Mercury Sable Picture

The
Mercury Sable is a mid-size vehicle available in GS, LS, GS and LS Plus, and LS and GS Premium
in sedans and wagons. Sable is equipped with either OHV 12-valve Vulcan V6 or
DOHC 24-valve Duratec V6, both having 3.0-liter displacement. The 12-valve V6
generates 153 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 186pound-feet of torque at 3250 rpm,
while the 24-valve V6 reaches 200 horsepower at 5500 rpm and a torque of 200 pound-feet
at 4500 rpm.
In the 1995 trim the Sable LTS was born. It is a Sable with a sporty ability
similar to the Taurus SE. The Sable however is more upscale than Taurus with its
leather interior and power adjustment for the driver's seat. The 1997 Sable has
remarkable rate for its spacious interior, reliability, seat comfort, and quality
and craftsmanship. In the 1999 model year, the Mercury Sable received the government's
highest rating for the frontal crash tests. Both the Sable sedan and Sable wagon
trims got five stars for the driver and passenger side front bench at no additional
cost in the frontal impact test.
