The 2003 Mercury Sable is available only in GS and LS versions including GS sedan, GS Plus, GS wagon, GS Plus wagon, LS Premium, and LS Premium wagon. All Mercury Sables are offering remote-controlled, exterior mirrors, carpeting, cup holders in the center console, AM/FM radio, tilt steering column, air conditioning, power door locks with child safety lock on rear doors, remote keyless entry, anti-theft systems, cruise control, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering, 16-inch tires, 2-speed variable intermittent windshield wipers, and power windows. The GS sedans feature rear drum brakes, while 4-wheel disc brakes with all other Sables. Four-speed automatic transmission is the only transmission offered in all Sables. The engine for the GS sedans and wagons is 3.0-liter ohv 12-valve Vulcan V6 that is generating 155 horsepower, while the LS Premium sedan has 3.0-liter dohc 24-valve Duratec V6 with dual overhead cams that generates 200 horsepower.

 

Sable is agile, controllable and sporty. It offers a very responsive engine coupled with gentle ride. It has the blending of beauty and function. Its cabin has been refined for this model year. The interior materials have been upgraded. It now offers a new insulator in the floor pan and wind blocking seals on the doors, windows and side view mirrors, and expanding foam fills on the wind shield support, giving a quieter interior.
