2001 Mercury Sable
The 2001 Mercury Sable is a vehicle among the current mid-size scale. It features
roomy interior and easy to use contemporary controls and instrumentation. The
NHTSA rated it with a five-star for frontal crash test. Sable sedan comes in GS,
LS, and LS Premium, while the wagon comes only in GS and LS Premium trim.
You can get a Sable with five or six-passenger configurations. The GS has 6-passenger
seating, while the LS and LS Premium offers front bucket seats. The GS and LS
offer 3.0L overhead-valve Vulcan' V6 with 155 horsepower. The Duratec V6 dual
overhead cams 24 valves with200 horsepower is optional to LS sedan, while standard
for LS Premium sedan and wagon. Four-speed automatic transmission is the only
transmission offered for these trims. The 24-valve Duratec V6 has a more complex
valvetrain but is delivering better response and performance. It offers a remarkable
ride comfort. Sable is offering safety equipments that include front dual airbags,
seatbelts pre-tensioners, dual rear child-seat anchors, and emergency inside-trunk
release. The options include side airbags, ABS, and traction control. LS has cloth
