The 2000 Mercury Sable features improved appearance, mechanicals, and accommodations. It is boasts a more hunk look, with upgraded powertrains, increased responsiveness, and very agile road ability. Sable comes in GS, LS, LS Premium sedan, GS wagon, and LS premium wagon. Its engines are the 3.0-liter OHV 12-valve V6 and 3.0-liter 16-valve V6, with automatic transmission.

 

The Sable is offering safety equipments that include front dual-stage airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, dual rear child-seat anchors, emergency inside-trunk release standard, while side airbags, ABS, and traction control for the options. LS offers cloth with leather seats, power driver's seat, split folding rear seat, and power adjustable pedals. The Ls Premiums ha standard excellent 24-valve Duratec V6, leather seating surfaces, electronic climate control, automatic-on headlights, fog lamps, rear center elbow rest, and other features. All Sable trims are offering optional anti-lock brakes with electronic traction control. The power of the 2000 Sable was increased. The base engine now delivers 155 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The 24-valve Duratec V6 engine, which is available in all LS models, is making 200 horsepower and also 200 for the torque.
