The 1998 Mercury Sable is available in GS sedan, GS wagon, and LS sedan, and LS wagon. Unlike the in 1997 model year, the Duratec V6 engine was standard on the LS versions. It was made as an option for both LS and GS trim levels. Mercury Sable has available 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine 24-valve with automatic transmission for the LS 4-door sedan. Some Sable offer moon roof, remote keyless entry, and alloy wheels. GS sedan offer options that include driver air bag, power locks, passenger air bag, power windows, air conditioning, and cruise control. The exterior of the Sable includes the 5-mph impact front and rear bumpers, dual power outside mirrors, multi-reflector halogen headlamps, body-color rocker panel moldings, and heated outside mirrors. Aerodynamically styled luggage rack and rear liftgate with flip-up glass available only for wagon.
